Topic: Sleep Problems in Children: Possible Causes and Strategies for a Good Nights Sleep
Presenter: Carolyn Waldecker, Psy.D.
Up to 40% of children experience a sleep problem at some point during their development. Disturbed sleep and wake patterns are even more prevalent in children with developmental disabilities. Many children have difficulty initiating or maintaining sleep each night, thereby causing themselves and their parents to lose sleep. In this presentation, common forms of sleep disturbances including insomnia, night terrors, and sleep apnea will be discussed. Behavioral causes of sleep problems will be presented, and strategies for a better nights sleep will be reviewed.
This workshop is FREE to parents of HLVS students and for center-based staff |
